Moving - New Home

Amanda, Tanya, Nick and I all found a new home in Acton Town. Not far from Shebu (15 minutes by bus) a tiny bit further out of the city. It a four-bedroom house that has just been fully gutted so everything is brand new, that’s right, we even have a toilet that has a button instead of a chain lol.
The bedrooms are all huge with double beds, wooden floors throughout and the kitchen has stainless steel cook-tops, oven, microwave ect. No backyard but it has a roomy front yard and we’re on a dead-end street - will post some photos soon!

Jayson - Vesbar
Since Tanya has arrived we have been having ‘Sunday Sessions’ down at our local Vesbar from 4pm.
There is this cute Kiwi guy that plays the guitar and sings Aussie, Kiwi and other songs. We usually have a bottle of red wine or cocktails and nibble on antipasto platters whilst chatting. It’s really relaxing.
The last month or so Dion (that we met on our Ireland tour) has made the trip to Shebu with friends to join us, its like being on a set of Sex and the City - we have so much fun!

Czech Republic - Prague
Prague was very relaxing and beautiful. Tanya and I had a nice time walking the streets stopping at cafes ect along the way. I was quite sick so we didn't venture out too much but definitely covered a lot.
The hotel (K & K) was magnificent. Definitely the four stars as recommended, very central and was in walking distance to everything, including the shops! Prague is very cheap, so we made the most of our four star hotel and ordered room service one night (hot chocolate and apple strudel). Not to mention the full buffet breakfasts each morning. Picture the best hotel in Sydney. I haven’t experienced anything like it for a long while.

Prague Castle
We visited the famous Prague Castle, Bridge Jewish town and cemetery. My favourite area was Old Town Square – the famous clock.
The buildings are very pretty with a sensation of space. It was great to get away from the hustle and bustle of London.
On our final morning we managed a Champaign breakfast with a special toast for Tanya’s 21st. It was a pity we couldn’t sit there and drink a little more hehe. We chatted about how Adam used to love the full buffet breakfast back in the day hehe. We also had a great meal on our final night in Old Town Square. The meat (chicken, veal and steak) was divine, melted in your mouth, haven't eaten such great food since being in OZ

My speech to Tanya

I would firstly like to say hello to everyone down under and thank you all for sharing this special occasion with my beautiful sister. I truly wish I was here with you all tonight...
But If it wasn't for me you wouldn't be here eating, drinking and parting hard.... People close to Tanya might have heard the story of me
'saving her life' twice...
'saving her life' twice...
Both these incidents occurred when Tanya was around four years old. Our neighbour (from h3ll) thought it would be funny to let Tanya go for a ride, in her pram down our Greenslopes drive way, smack into the back of our blue Mitsubishi Pagero! Lucky for Tans I was there watching out for her (as always) and managed to catch Tanya just in the nick of time...
The second life saving experience (thank god for surf club) was when I noticed Tanya struggling at the bottom of Brandon park swimming pool. I made the rescue.... and in the puff of her breath Tanya said 'I was just trying to do a handstand like you nae'!
Both these incidents descried the relationship Tanya and I have formed over the past 21 years. I was the big sis looking out for little Tans and Tanya wanted to be just like her big sis (god love her)...
One of the fondest memories Adam and I have of Tanya is waking up to her on Christmas day. We would all grab our sacks from the bottom of the bed a quietly sneak out to the front balcony (trying as hard as possible not to make a sound or Santa would take back the presents). We even managed to wish the newspaper delivery man a Merry Christmas every year. Tanya was great asset to Adam and I...she managed to prolong Santa's visits to the age of 10...bluffing mum and dad so that we would get loads of wicked presents each year.
There was a time when not only did I share a bedroom with Tanya but SHE also shared my bed (hint hint) makeup, cleansing products, shavers, clothes (including lingerie) and accessories. I in particular recall my first high school disco, new outfit. I arrived home from school that night of the Holy Spirit disco to NO TOP or should I say Tanya wearing my top.
I haven't missed sharing all my stuff with Tans but I have missed the hugs and little soft kisses before lights out. Having someone to follow around. The company in the toilet. Drinking and chatting at home on a warm summers night. Going shopping to Miranda (with our U-turn experiences). Deciding what to wear together... you doing my hair and makeup before going out. Getting Ceases after a big night out. Going for a walk along south beach. And most of all just having you beside me!
In four weeks you travel 22 hours to the other side of the world to join me living in London. Who would have thought any different. Us together... ladies of London. We will shop on Oxford street, have dim sum (Ping Pong) and cocktails in Soho, nightclubs in Kings Cross, Broadway shows, dinner and drinks by Big Ben, a fantastic weekend away to Prague and much more. Oh, and you meeting all the celeb's and hunky guys on movie set!
And one last story of when Tanya was thirteen. Do you remember that time when you and Kate Hook took the Mitsubishi Pagero for a cruise around Greenslopes? Adam and I thought it had become a little quiet, noticed the keys missing and ran out the front. You were there trying to park. Adam and I re-parked the 4WD so mum and dad wouldn't know. You still owe us for that!
You are an amazing person Tanya with great love and affection, you are a beautiful, caring and kind natured lady. The best sister one could ever have. I miss you loads. Cheers to great success, fond memories and good times ahead.
Love you lots and see you soon.

Spain - Gothic
We walked through the Gothic area, eat great good including good'ol Spanish tappas, walked down Las Ramblas, travelled over the city by cable cart, spent time by the water (drinking Starbucks), a lot of drinking and partying (therefore sleeping off hang-overs) and much more. Oh, and by the way lots of hot boys! All in all was a fab trip that I would love to do again, thanks girls!
Happy new year to all :O)

Sagrada Familia
We visited several works by Gaulde. The famous Sacarda Familiar. For those who don't know the Cathedral is known for its long completion time. Commenced in the late 18's and is still being built today. Apparently the reason is to see the change in technology (being reflected in the work). What a great idea! It said to be finished within the next 20 - 30 years. So the girls and I made a pact...we'll return without our husbands and children (maybe grandchildren) on a girls trip away to see the finished product!

Barcelona
Barcelona is amazing, one of my favourites cities. I've never been interested in art or architecture but this city is covered with beautiful buildings and spectacular artwork. I recall being down by the water (which is newly built and reminded me of Sydney) and then looking back at the city and it's beautifully defined buildings. Magnificent!

Seville by night
Seville a small village and known for it's beauty. Not many people spoke English so we were challenged most days. Lucky for us Spanish is very similar to Italian. So we managed getting by with the little Italian I know. It was nice to relax and appreciate the things we all take for granted (like ordering McDonalds in English) and watching the world go by.

Flamingo Show
On our final night at Seville we went to a flamingo show (with dinner). It was amazing. The costumes... the way they move their bodies... and tap their feet! I felt like I was on the set of Strictly Ballroom. And the food was delicious, veal scaloppini and roasted vegetables (yummo)! Oh, getting home was another adventure that night... our pronunciation to the cab driver of our hotel name lol

Christmas in Seville
Christmas was spent with Amanda, Jess and her friend Alana (from the Gold Coast) in Seville, a small town south of Spain.
We arrived Christmas eve and walked the streets trying to find something special to eat. We didn't want to except our options of McDonalds, McDonalds or McDonalds!
The decision was made we caught a cab (we were so tired from walking) to McDonalds.
We walked in and the door was locked behind us.
We walked in and the door was locked behind us.
Lucky fo us, if we had been a second latter we would have spent Christmas eve very hungry. Now I know why you see people eating at McDonalds on Christmas! lol
We hung out at McDonalds for as long as possible considering they were closed and walked back to the hotel. I will at this stage forget to mention it took two hours to find the God damn hotel...quite funny now we look back on it.
